So proud of how much you’ve done this year, you taught me and others so much and had fun while doing it! ❤️😊 I am looking forward to see what’s next for you in 2024!!
Hi Becky, I can’t believe I made it to a comment section lol I am trying to follow. When I am able to I am amazed at where you’ve been and where you’re going and how you are so able to describe it. My wish for 2024, is that I get to accompany you on any exploration Whether it be right down by your house or up in these hills that I live in, I’d love to share them with you and learn from you, all my best, your uncle John.
Very cool year for you! The Nat Geo event is still blowing my mind! One of my favorite Geo creators for sure.
2023- my highlights were definitely visiting California for the first time, Yosemite, and deciding to go back to school (and maintaining a 4.0.) Book highlights- Travels by Michael Crichton changed my life and "altered my brain chemistry" as the kids say.
Far as goals, I'm pretty disciplined when it comes to my reading, exercise and when it comes to my well being- but I'm pretty excited to finally travel internationally this year and plan to meet my financial and travel goals, buy less, and expand my wardrobe with things I already own.
The Nat Geo thing is still blowing my mind as well! Lol - and thank you so much Brittany!
I'm so jealous, I've never been to California - I hope I get to visit this year (fingers crossed). That's so exciting about going back to school *and* doing so well - congrats on your hard work! I'll have to check out that book you mentioned and add it to my already several hundred book long TBR haha
International trips are so exciting, especially if it's your first time going overseas! My first time going across the pond was Germany when I was 16, and then not again until I was 19 visiting Amsterdam and Russia :)
I also have a goal of wanting to read more this year, but I think I'm going to not set a reading goal this time. I feel like that might help me put less pressure on myself and I want to see if I end up reading more books because of that.. we'll see - I'm also trying to practice/learn better ways to decrease impulse spending. Lately I've made an album on my phone titled 'Want' where I put photos or screenshots of things I want and most of the time make myself wait to buy them until I actually have thought about it a lot and gone through the checklist of: do I already have an item similar to this? do I need to buy this item new or can I find it secondhand? Do I actually need this item right now or can it wait? etc. it's been really helpful so far actually
definitely one of my highlights this year was deciding go to all-in on my geology album and everything that came from that decision! been such a pleasure to meet you (online for now!) and connect with so many other new people. and perform at museums! when i think back to the start of 2023 it feels miles away haha.
